"It becomes important for us to clarify to the West in unequivocal terms - yet again - why we hate you and why we fight you ...
We hate you first and foremost, because you are disbelievers, you reject the oneness of Allah ...
The fact is ... our primary reason for hating you will not cease to exist until you embrace Islam.
Even if you were to pay jizyah and live under the authority of Islam in humiliation, we would continue to hate you ...
there is indeed a rhyme to our terrorism, warfare, ruthlessness, and brutality"

What is Halal Food?

The Theory and Practice of Halal  (19 April 2012)

"The following course prospectus for Formacion Halal (Halal Training) comes from the Halal Institute in Córdoba, Spain. This is not a little hole-in-the-wall storefront cooking school, mind you, but a respectable academic institution associated with the University of Cordoba. And don't forget the symbolic significance of Córdoba for the Reconquista. Spain is now in the midst of a 'de-Reconquista', and the presence of the Halal Institute in Córdoba is concrete evidence of that ongoing process..."

Halal Meat  (No Date)

"Halal meat and other halal food items are becoming more common in the West, yet most Westerners remain uninformed or misinformed about halal meat and other halal foods. Halal means 'permissible' in Arabic. Halal meat and other halal foods are those that have been certified to be permissible for Muslims to eat..."

What is Halal?  (No Date)

"Halal simply means permitted or lawful. So when we are talking about halal foods it means any foods that are allowed to be eaten according to Islamic Sharia law. This means that for any food to be considered halal it must comply with the religious ritual and observance of Sharia law..."

London Hospital Canteen Only Serves Halal Meat  (21 September 2017)

"Visitors to the canteen of a major London hospital have been left with no choice but to eat halal food, a decision apparently taken despite the Muslim population of the local area being a small minority ... The only other option for visitors and customers who might disagree with halal for animal welfare or other reasons are vegetarian meals..."

A Stealthy Takeover of Britain's Supermarket Shelves  (01 February 2016 / 07 May 2014)

"To ensure that Muslim consumers get their preferred variety of halal meat, a range of certification and labelling systems currently help [them] purchase a product that conforms to the exact religious threshold they desire. Controversially, however, a very different state of affairs currently prevails for consumers who happen not to be Muslim and - for either faith-based or for ethical reasons - would prefer to avoid halal produce altogether..."

Supermarkets Must Identify Halal Meat  (09 May 2014)

"An assumption is made that since the majority of the population has no specified religious dietary requirements, it does not matter how meat is prepared. ... It should go without saying that we need to know where our meat comes from and how it is slaughtered. yet it has become apparent in recent days that supermarkets and food chains are selling halal meat without alerting shoppers to its provenance..."

My Compulsory Halal Pizza is Hard to Swallow  (08 May 2014)

New Zealand Lamb is Halal  (27 September 2010)

"Insofar as the state permits the slaughter of animals in accordance with Jewish kosher stipulations, it is only reasonable that the same liberty be granted to Muslims with their halal requirements. But kosher meat tends to be on the expensive side, so specialist butchers leave the buyer in no doubt about its provenance and it is clearly labelled. Yet when it comes to halal, we are all being sold meat without being made aware of the fact that what we are eating has been ritually blessed and dedicated to Allah..."

Default Halal: Quotes and Comments:

"Britain is appeasing a 3% population at the cost and superimposed decision on 97% of people" [source].

Islam "also advances by demanding the observance of Islamic customs in western societies. The imposition of halal meat is part of that" [source].

"If you get to a stage where all meat is Halal (for the convenience of the retailers), a Muslim can say, 'even Western countries acknowledge that the Quran has the best advice'" [comment at source].

"There is no legal requirement for a retailer to state what type of slaughterhouse the meat comes from. This is why so much meat from halal slaughterhouses is being secretly sold in supermarkets" [comment at source].

"The western world is caving in everyday to Islamic pressure. How can chains upon chains of restaurants be forcing its many patrons to eat halal meat? If anybody wants halal meat they should ... form their own halal restaurants" [comment at source].

"Schools are also serving ritually slaughtered meat to remove the risk of Muslim children eating non-halal food" [source].

"Is everyone contacting their Councils and Councillors to see if schools etc supply ritually/religiously slaughtered meats etc to the children. Instead of us bowing to the minority who threaten to boycott school meals why don't WE threaten to boycott instead. We are the MAJORITY" [comment at source].

"Companies presume, rightly, that observant Muslims will seek out the information (and therefore visit their outlets), while the majority of other consumers will be none the wiser. Efforts to create a conspicuous labelling system have meanwhile been blocked by Left-leaning politicians who say it would discriminate against Muslims and Jews ... In 2011 ... the European Parliament voted down a bill to label food killed via 'non-stun' methods as halal. Months later, the Conservative MP Philip Davies had a similar piece of legislation defeated ... 'My bill said that halal and kosher meat should be labelled at the point of sale. In my naivety, I presumed it would be non-controversial, but it was opposed by the PC brigade in the Labour party ... we are a Christian country. People expect that the majority of meat in the country will be slaughtered in a traditional way, and that halal will be in a minority for people who want to seek it out. But in many areas, it seems halal has now become the default position'" [source].

Religious, Ethical, Moral Objections to Halal Products

"With sensitive religions like Buddhism, Judaism, and Hinduism, where the belief is that your mind and soul is deeply influenced by what you eat and therefore strict monitoring of food content is important, how do they feel about their food being acquired through jihad-like decapitation of animals and packed and sold after it's been filled with prayers and supplications to the 'Lord of the Devils' (Muhammad's reference to Allah)? Can't imagine a more insulting and forbidden food content than Halal for these religious groups ... Britain has basically denied the other groups the freedom of religion by forcing them to subjugate to someone else's rituals - a completely forbidden practice in their own religion" [source].

Should Christians Eat Halal Meat?  (08 October 2014)

Should I Eat Halal Meat?  (06 October 2014)

Discussing Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians 10:14-31.

Halal Meat: What is the Christian Position?  (October 2010)

"For meat to be 'Halal', firstly the animal must be alive, intact and its heart beating. secondly, the slaughtering must be done at least in the presence of a Muslim. Finally, a declaration, a 'Shahada', must be said over the meat at he point of slaughter ... The Halal Food Authority say the shahada must be said over each animal ... it means that every halal-slaughtered steer, sheep, goat, or chicken has been dedicated - or sacrificed - to Allah, the god of the Muslims..."

Christians' Objections to Halal Products:

"I am opposed to the Islamification of food, so I don't want to buy halal, but it's become very hard to avoid, even if you try. If Muslims want to eat halal, that's absolutely fine. But it should be clearly labelled. The problem is that, as with so many other things, the sensitivity only runs one way. People are being given the choice to choose halal. But they are not being given the choice to avoid it" [Colin Hart, The Christian Institute, quoted at source].

"While Christians are at liberty to consume whatever their conscience permits, Paul expresses a particular concern over 'meat offered to idols' (1 Corinthians 10:14-32). But this assumes that the believer is aware that the meat has been blessed in the name of Allah, who is the greatest. If the Christian is kept in the dark, Paul is rather chilled about the matter until someone comes along and makes the believer aware that the meat was idol-sacrificed. Christians are then exhorted not to eat the meat for their sake: we may eat and drink anything unless and until it causes another to stumble. But no-one is much bothered about the dietary sensitivities of 71% of the population" [source].

"Christians should stop buying Halal altogether and specifically request non-Halal ... 'Everything is permissible but not everything is beneficial' (1 Cor 10:23). How is buying Halal and thereby promoting a lot of other evils, including helping enforcement of Sharia ... beneficial for Christians or the society in general?" [comment at source].

"It seems from what the Apostle [Paul] is saying [in 1 Corinthians 8:1-13] that although Christ is bigger than the idols to which the meat is offered, and the meat would not defile the mature believer, nevertheless it is an act of witness to those who are weak to refuse halal meat. The weak may be those young in the [Christian] faith or even those of another faith" [source].

"Halal meats and foods pose ethical questions for each believer, and each must follow their conscience. Do they choose to partake of them? They haven't sinned or worshiped Allah. For me, the issue isn't one of meat sacrificed to idols, but one in which I will never knowingly support industries that support Islam or Islamic doctrine. This is my personal choice and belief ... each believer has to decide for themselves, and there is nothing inherently sinful in eating Halal foods, simply because they were sacrificed to the false god Allah" [comment at source].

"I can eat food that is offered in sacrifice to the false god Allah, for he is an empty idol, and the [Bible] tells me that the idol is nothing of importance" [comment at source].

"Christians are told to avoid eating food that has been sacrificed to idols and to eat for God's glory (1 Corinthians 10:19-33) - how can we do that knowing that the food has been offered to the false god Allah and that it is indirectly supporting terrorism?  The issue of not eating food sacrificed to idols is so important to God that in the Bible it is one of the few commands given to Gentile Christians, and God rebuked two churches in the Book of Revelation for eating food sacrificed to idols (Revelation 2:14 and Revelation 2:20)" [source].

"When Paul speaks of 'offence' ... he means causing [someone] to think poorly of the Gospel. For Muslims in particular, if they see Christians acting with no regard to their Christian faith, or not taking it as seriously as they do their Muslim faith, that causes them 'offence' in the Pauline sense" [source].

"For political reasons of the slaughter of Christians by Muslims in the Middle East and parts of Central Asia, Christians should NOT eat halal meat at all but simple non-meat items when partaking a meal with a Muslim family. 1 Corinthians 10:28 explains the principle of meat sacrificed to idols that for the sake of the Muslim family we will not support the slaughter of our brothers and sisters in Christ. We must make our faith and convictions known to the Muslim community in grace and truth that we cannot support the slaughter of those of our faith represented in eating lamb, beef, goat in a Muslim setting" [comment at source].

YOUTUBE:  Why Don't Sikhs Eat Halal Meat?  (22 July 2015)

"Q&A session following the talk at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Gurdwara, Manchester. The questions was 'Why don't Sikhs eat Halal meat?'."

Sikhs' Objections to Halal Products:

"There is a proliferation of unlabelled halal meat and derived products into the food chain. Consumers are being denied the right to make an informed choice based upon their faith or other beliefs concerning meat from ritually slaughtered animals. This cannot be right and an urgent change is required" [Spokesman for the Sikh Council, quoted at source].

"Sikhs can only eat meat if they are starving to death and the only kind of meat we can eat in a starving to death situation is Jhatka Meat ... But a Sikh can never eat Halal. Halal meat is when a animal is tortured to death"  /  "Halal prolongs the suffering of the animal"  /  "[S]cience has shown that during the pain given to the animal whilst being killed in halal way, body releases hormones due to fear, anger and stress and these chemicals going to the meat. Thus affecting [the] eater" [comments at source].

"[T]here are other religious minorities, such as Sikhs, whose faith prohibits them from eating animals that have been ritually slaughtered. Why should one set of religious sensibilities trump another?" [source].

"Sikhs, whose faith strictly and specifically forbids them from consuming animals which have been 'ritually slaughtered'. They currently have no way of telling what meat or ready meals they can or cannot consume" [source].

"Allah is an idol, and meat dedicated to him is meat sacrificed to an idol. Sikhs understand this very well, which is why their religion expressly forbids them from eating halal meat. It also explains why they, and anyone who desires openness and honesty in food labelling, are so disturbed that halal meat is being sold surreptitiously, and is not required to be labelled as such in the UK" [source].

British Sikhs ... constitute 0.7% of the population and their voice will be heard. ... some Sikhs eat meat, not least because one of their gurus is recorded as being a hunter. Yet within the Sikh faith are the 'kurahit' , or prohibitions, one of which is to not eat meat 'killed in the Muslim way' ... it is a sustained article of belief for Sikhs all over the world - they are simply not permitted to eat halal meat at all. If they buy their meat from Sainsbury's, Tesco, Waitrose, or M&S, they have been doing so without their knowledge" [source].

Hindus' Objections to Halal Products:

"Over here in India, virtually all meat available at supermarkets and restaurants is Halal without any certification warning, including the ones available at chains including Subway, McDonalds, KFC and Pizza Hut. Gullible people are being force-fed this barbaric piece of medieval history and no-one seems to complain. Most wealthy and middle-class Hindus are vegetarian, and don't care about Halal one way or the other. As someone who loves a thick slab of steak occasionally, I'm left with no choice but to join my vegetarian brethren while they raise a toast to tofu and soy salads. I love meat but being denied my right to humanely slaughtered source of proteins" [comment at source].

Relativism and 'The Pyramid of Rights'

"[T]he sensitivities of Christians and Sikhs and the demands of the animal rights activists are subjugated to the commercial considerations of the slaughterhouses who are pandering to the demands of 4% of the population.  At the core of relativism is the pyramid of rights. Various groups vie for these rights appealing for hegemony at the expense of others in a state of flux - an amoral soup - struggling for a place at the top of the pyramid. As far as the nation's meat is concerned, the victor has emerged. But it is not illegal to dupe non-Muslims into buying halal meat, so it is being done on an industrial scale. there is no statutory requirement for stores to label produce 'Slaughtered in the name of Allah, who is the greatest'. Cranmer does not do boycotts. Unless, of course, he feels strongly about a matter. New Zealand has just lost a customer" [source].

Halal Certification: Funding Islamic Dawa/Expansion, Jihad, Terrorism

Defending Halal - and Jeopardising the West  (13 April 2015)

"Imagine Western politicians in the 1930s and 40s saying we should ease up on criticising the Nazis, and not make things hard on our economy by not doing business with them. Imagine them saying that if we cut off trade with the Germans, it will harm our economy and cause job losses. Hopefully if they did come up with such idiocy, everyone would have told them to get real and get their priorities right ... In many respects Islam and its goals for global supremacy is not unlike the push by the Nazis and the Third Reich for global dominance..."

The Truth About Halal Certification: Part 1  (21 February 2015)

"News sites, the Federal Parliament, Facebook posts, web blogs, TV and radio talkback are sizzling with chatter about halal certification - the involuntary Islamic tax we all now pay at the supermarket checkout, cafes, bakeries, fast food outlets, restaurants, and beyond. Even lawyers have their pistols cocked at ten paces on instructions from halal adversaries. What was once limited to meat slaughter has now crept into all products associated with my life, including non foods items to basic services, in what has been described as 'Shariah creep'. Opportunistic moneymen have identified a gap in the market where 'infidel idiots' are primed for exploitation..."

Halal Certification: Follow the Money  (02 September 2014)

"As with most things Islamic, there is woeful ignorance and  misunderstanding ion the general public as to what is actually going on. many folks simply parrot what they are told from Islamic activists. For example, many think Islam means peace. Well, no it does not. ... The whole issue about halal foods is another great example of how most people are either fooled or clueless as to what is really going on ... Big money is involved in the certification process, and where all this money ends up is the million dollar question..."

Are You Inadvertently Supporting Islamic Terrorism by Unwittingly Buying Halal Food?  (29 March 2013)

"The labels don't always say 'halal' which is why you should familiarize yourself with the Arabic lettering for halal. ... All of these symbols indicate that the food was prepared and blessed in accordance with Islamic law. ... There is a hidden tax in food certified as halal. Can Buying Food Contribute to Terrorism?  (25 March 2013)

"In October 2010, news broke about how the Campbell's Soup company received an Islamic (halal) certification for some of its product line, and many were outraged. There was legitimate concern - not with the fact that Campbell's received the certification, but with what organization the certification came form, that being the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group co-founded by Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) leader Sami al-Arian..."

Halal Funds Terrorists: ZAKAT  (04 November 2012)

"If you buy Halal, you are indirectly financing terrorism via Zakat. ... Islamic law requires a 2.5% tax called zakat which is imposed on income and accumulated wealth of all devout Muslims. I.e. the muslims that are involved in the halal industry - the imams, slaughtermen, workers, business and shop owners, etc. ... What you may not know is that there are eight classes of zakat recipients, each of which gets a 1/8 share of the gross. One of those classifications is fighters in Allah's cause, aka Mujihideen, aka terrorists..."

Halal Certification: Quotes and Comments:

"Halal ... is contributing towards the expansion of Islam in our western nations. Also it has been shown that in some countries some of the money from halal is going to support terrorist organisations" [comment at source].

"In purchasing Halal products in general, the funds go to Islamic groups, which all support jihad (whether they use violent, cultural, or political methods). I will never knowingly support Islam by buying Halal products. ... As a moral decision, if a product is labeled with a Halal-based logo, I will buy and use something else. Support of Islam in any form is simply something that I won't knowingly do, as all of Islam is based in Jihad, and Jihad requires the subjugation of anyone who is Kafir (non-Muslim). To participate in my own destruction just strikes me as something obvious to avoid" [comment at source].

"The funds raised go to the support of Islam, and that is not acceptable for me. As there is no peaceable form, and as the religion serves as a very thinly disguised Satan, who is masquerading as Allah, I will refrain from anything that will further his reach, scope, and effectiveness, In addition, Halal slaughter is the most cruel and brutal, which is no surprise, coming from service to the cruel and brutal false god, Allah. Halal foods are such a category for me, and I don't knowingly purchase or eat them" [comment at source].

"The sales of such food products go directly to groups that would try and force Sharia on me and mine. I will never knowingly give money to support the pursuit of Jihad, for Islam IS Jihad. It doesn't matter whether the weapons used are violence, lies and deception, murder, rape, pedophilia, or the promotion of the oppressive system of Sharia. The end goal is the same ... Allah is a base pretender, and I would never give money to any industry that promotes the worship of this false god, and that promotes the subjugation of all who reject him and his pedophile prophet, Mohammed" [comment at source].

"There is an open campaign by Islamic food agencies to integrate halal into the mainstream market and to extend it to non-Muslims. The World Halal Forum held its annual conference in London earlier this month (November), and has identified the UK as a pilot project for halal in Europe... The spread of halal is often part of the commitment to Islamic mission (dawa) and the Islamisation of non-Muslim societies. The imposition of sharia practices on non-Muslims may be interpreted as an act of Islamic supremacy" [The Barnabas Fund, quoted at source].

"[R]itually/religiously slaughtered meats to be strictly labelled ... The Zakat tax can then be paid by those choosing to buy it and support Islam as this tax goes solely to Islam" [comment at source].

"Why Boycott Halal?  It's an inhumane and barbaric way to kill animals ... A percentage of the profits from this trillion dollar industry ends up in the hands of terrorist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas ... Stop the Islamisation of the West ... Stop the spread of Sharia (Islamic law, of which halal ritual slaughtering is a part)" [source].

Halal Abbattoirs: Quotes and Comments:

"It is true that some Halal abattoirs do use stunning before cutting the throat. However, within Islam, the principle of taqiyya means that Muslims are at liberty to deceive non-Muslims for the furtherance of Islam. There is a half-truth being deployed here. The stunning they use is the inadequate 'stun to stun' type, not the more humane 'stun to kill', which vets recommend. The half-truth is that they are trying to convince non-Muslims that these abattoirs are behaving humanely, when in fact that y are falling well short of the requirement to behave humanely. We should be campaigning against 'stun to stun'. ... With 'stun to stun' the animal can regain consciousness before all the blood has drained, and so it can still experience pain and distrress" [comment at source].

Scripture Passages

Acts 15:20,29:  "But that we write unto them that they abstain from pollutions of idols ... That ye abstain from meats offered to idols..."

Acts 21:25:  "As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded ... that they keep themselves from things offered to idols..."

1 Corinthians 8:1-13:  "Now as touching things offered unto idols ... As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrificed unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one ...  For though there be that are called gods ... there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things ... and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things ...  Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.  But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.  But take heed lest by any means this liberty of your's become a stumbling block to them that are weak.  For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; and through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?  But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.  Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh which the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend"

1 Corinthians 10:14-33:  "Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry ... are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? ...  What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is anything?  But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils; ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils ...  All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.  Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.  Whatsoever is sold in the shambles [market], that eat, asking no question for conscience sake;  For the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof.  If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.  But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof:  Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?  For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?  Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.  Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:  Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved"

Revelation 2:14:  "But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that ... eat things sacrificed to idols..."

Revelation 2:20:  "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou ... eat things sacrificed unto idols..."

Labelling Halal Meat

"We say halal meat must be labelled in shops, take-aways and restaurants. We recognise that most halal meat is stunned before slaughter; it is the Shahada, the declaration to Allah, which most concerns us. Muslims should be able to buy halal meat, properly labelled. But retail outlets should not secretly impose it on the rest of us. Any meat, stunned or not, over which a slaughterman has said, 'Bismillah Allah al Akhbar' should be labelled as having been ritually slaughtered."

Halal Choices

"Halal choices is all about giving you, the consumer, correct information about the products available to you on Australian supermarket shelves [EMcD: although this site is Australian, much of the information given here is just as relevant to the UK, Europe, and the USA]. This way, you can make an informed choice about the food you eat and where your money goes. ... This website is not concerned with products that are halal approved but rather we are concerned about the products that are halal certified. That is, foods that have undergone the halal certification process where a fee has been paid to an Islamic certifying body. Primarily this means consumers are incurring an Islamic tax under Sharia law..."

Boycott Halal

"How and Why We Boycott Halal: Islam is introducing shariah into our society via halal products and services... this is stealth jihad in the West and in many non-Islamic countries worldwide. The 5 Key Halal Sectors Across the Entire Halal Supply Chain are: Agriculture; Manufacturing; Services; Tourism; Finance.  Halal food, food prepared according to Islamic shariah law, is becoming an increasing part of the Western diet - and most of this food is being sold to us, unlabelled as such. The right to know what you are buying is basic. Triply so with food. Ask where you shop is the meat is Halal, and refuse it if it is ... These halal compliant business hove to know that the cost of Islamification of the West , as well as abandoning all civilised rules for agriculture & animal husbandry, is the loss of business form any civilised society..."

The Curse of Cain

"After Cain killed his brother, the Lord told him, ... 'Cursed shall you be from the earth', ... and so it has been. The earth under their feet may be cursed, it yields nothing but sand and thistles, ... They become worshippers of death dreaming of the green verdant fields of paradise which they can reach only if they kill enough men, women and children. Leaving devastation behind them, dead lands, lost cultures, widows and orphans, they claw their way up to heaven on a ladder of bones. Everything around them dies until the only green is on their flags. They are cursed from the earth and they curse the earth. Where they go, the world dies. ... Cain sows fields of corpses of the innocent for the Lord and he still does not understand why his sacrifice is not accepted and why the earth he dwells on is cursed. ...  From Iraq to Iran, from Kuwait to Saudi Arabia, from Nigeria to Somalia, from Pakistan to Indonesia, he holds up human heads and cries 'Allahu Akbar'. ... There is no room for Cain anywhere. Where he remains there will be death and suffering. He will kill because it is all he can do. He has nothing else to offer the world, his own kind, or the Creator.. ... He kills from one end of the world to the next and it is never his fault. Each time, each Abel did it. ... His code is cruelty and his holy book is written in blood on the flayed skins of his murdered victims. ... The cries of peoples long vanished from the earth warn us that we will either drive out Cain or his curse will fill our lands with blood and dust and all that we love and all that we have worked for will die at his cursed touch" [source].

The Burden Which Habakkuk the Prophet Saw

The righteous cry out for God's punishment of the injustice in their lands:
O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
Why dost thou show me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife and contention.
Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

The LORD God answers:
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you.
For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwelling places that are not theirs.
They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves:
And their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.
They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.
Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god.

The dismay of the righteous at God's answer:
Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die.
O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity:
Wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.
Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

The LORD God's reassurance to the righteous:
And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

[Habakkuk 1:1-2:4]

Please Pray for All Those Persecuted by Islam

There are many, many suffering brothers and sisters who desperately need us to pray for them...

"Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them;
and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body"
(Hebrews 13:3)
